Community College (Diploma in Content Writing) in association with the Department of English organized a National Seminar on "Career Opportunities in Content Writing" on 18-Feb-2020 at St. Chavara Seminar hall. The morning session was handled by our resource person Mr Nandu Kattungal, CDO cum Director Roninaks Ventures Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore on “Design Thinking and Importance of Visuals in Content Writing “and the afternoon session was by Dr Latha Nair R, Associate Professor, St. Teresa’s College, Cochin on “Seconds: Compelling Content Writing, Getting your Reader’s attention in 6 seconds”. The Seminar was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr.Sr.Magie Jose.
The Women's Cell of St. Mary's College, Thrissur had conducted a detailed talk on “ Risk factors Arising from Obesity” on 18th October 2019 at Chavara Hall. The main objective of the talk was to make the young generation understand how harmful obesity is and the various nutritious steps that have to be taken in order to prevent it. The talk was conducted by Dr. Reena Jijo and Dr. Surya.
‘Plant a Tree Challenge’ by Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of St Mary's College was inauguration by Daya Bai on 14/11/2019 at 11:30 am. Around 40 students and five faculties actively attended the plantation ceremony. Followed by the Inauguration Daya Bai delivered a speech about the Importance of planting trees in daily life and the upcoming generation crisis without greenery. President of I IC, Dr. Sr. Sandra supported the talk and explained how she is maintaining our college campus with green even though it is situated in the heart of the city. Convener of I IC Dr.Kayeen Vadakken said Plant a Tree Challenge is an initiative by IIC that will continue as a part of social work. HOD of Social Work Sr. Jorzalin George gave a small awareness talk on plantation and deforestation.
