ChronoCode: Tracing the Timeline of DNA Fingerprinting

In commemoration of the 78th birth anniversary of Dr. Lalji Singh, pioneer of DNA fingerprinting in India, the Department of Biotechnology, St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thrissur, organized an intercollegiate scientific presentation competition on 10th July 2025.

Held as a tribute to Dr. Singh’s contributions to forensic genetics and biotechnology, the event aimed to inspire students to explore the evolution and future of DNA fingerprinting. Out of 12 registered participants, 8 students presented at Chavara Hall, covering diverse topics from its origin to advancements in legal and medical applications.
