St. Mary’s College Hosts Invited Talk on Career Pathways in Mathematics


The PG & Research Department of Mathematics, St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thrissur, organized an invited talk on “Career Pathways in Math” on 08 December 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hall.

The session was led by Jomy P. L, an educator and mathematics enthusiast, who provided valuable insights into the diverse academic, professional, and research-oriented career opportunities available for students of mathematics. The talk highlighted emerging career options, interdisciplinary applications of mathematics, and the importance of analytical thinking in today’s job market.

Students actively participated in the interactive session, seeking guidance on higher studies, competitive examinations, teaching careers, and industry-based roles. The programme proved to be highly beneficial, motivating students to explore mathematics beyond the classroom and to plan their career paths with clarity and confidence.
