To impart quality education in Psychology, understand the human psyche and to apply these principles in personal and social issues.

To gain an in depth understanding of various disciplines of psychology and prepare the students for scientifically based professional practice.
To up-bring a young generation who is concerned with the ethical values of their professional, social and personal life.
History of the Department
The Department of Psychology was established in the year 2012. The sanctioned strength for the PG program was 20 seats. There were only 2 students in the beginning and currently it has become 32, gradual progress over the years. Six batches have completed the course and more than 75% of the students have been placed in various schools and clinics as counselors and psychologists. The course followed the syllabus revised by the University of Calicut in the year 2010. The choice-based credit semester system (CUCSS) was introduced during this revision to bring innovation in education which is expected to improve quality of education. The department conducts a career aptitude test for all the final year degree students of the college. The results are given to the students and individual career counseling is provided based on the results.
The department takes interest in the personal and professional betterment of each student. The students have shown their proficiencies in their academics as University toppers and rank holders. There were also initiatives from the students by identifying the needy, and organizing talks and providing emotional support, thereby showing their concerns for the societies edify. The department ensures the personal, social and professional development of our students, who will certainly be an asset to the society.
The faculty of the department engages in academic extension talks in which the targeted groups were teachers, parents, students, and specialized groups. The students also wholeheartedly cooperate in helping and caring for needy people. The department also organizes visits to rehabilitation centers, poor homes, and orphanages in order to inculcate basic human values and practice it in their daily life.
